My name is Mary Butler. I am an occupational therapist, which means that I am a gap filler and a weaver of threads. The gaps I fill are carefully identified, for example, the needs of people with visual impairment – or the need of students for practice and research-based education. The threads I weave are made of research, education, advocacy and clinical practice. I am a professor at the University of Adelaide and program head of the brand new program of occupational therapy.
